With a powerful sprint into the Italian town of Tivoli, Riccardo Riccò bested a talented field to win the 208 km Stage 8 of the 2008 Giro. Riccò had help from strong teamates including Leonardo Piepoli in the closing kilometres and moved into the lead in the points competition.
